Complete Your Registration Online Through the DMV

Online Voter Registration Service
If you are an NCDMV customer with a driver’s license or NCDMV-issued ID, you may register to vote or change parts of your registration with the online voter registration service. Existing NCDMV customers may register to vote, update their voter registration address or party affiliation. They may not change their name.
This service does not require the user to complete a DMV transaction (such as duplicate or license renewal) at the same time. There is no fee for voter registration services. Once the online application is complete, it is sent to the State Board of Elections, which handles voter registrations.
The online voter registration service is offered through a partnership between the DMV and the State Board of Elections. If a person applies fewer than 25 days before an election, it will not be processed until after the election. You may still register to vote in person using same-day registration in your county during the early voting period.
