In the days following each election in North Carolina, the 100 county boards of elections count provisional ballots and certain absentee ballots cast in the election, conduct post-election audits, and complete any necessary recounts.

The State Board will meet at 3:30 p.m. to consider extending voting hours in one Wilson County precinct.
Voting will be extended until 8 p.m. in one precinct in Burke County and one precinct in Wilson County.
In the coming days, county boards of elections will hand-count selected ballots and compare results with the machine counts.
