State Board Hosting Online Press Availability, as Absentee Voting Set to Begin

On Friday, September 4, county boards of elections across North Carolina will begin sending absentee by mail ballots to registered voters who have requested ballots for the November 3 election. North Carolina is the first state to send ballots to voters for the 2020 election.

Raleigh, N.C. – On Friday, September 4, county boards of elections across North Carolina will begin sending absentee by mail ballots to registered voters who have requested ballots for the November 3 election.

North Carolina is the first state to send ballots to voters for the 2020 election.

The State Board of Elections is inviting media to attend a virtual press availability at 1 p.m. Thursday, September 3. See meeting details below.

State Board Executive Director Karen Brinson Bell and Chair Damon Circosta will be available for questions, along with a few county elections directors.

Brinson Bell will give updates on election preparations in North Carolina, and provide tips for voters to navigate this election season. Reporters will be able to ask questions during the event.
