Celebrate National Voter Registration Day on Tuesday

To celebrate National Voter Registration Day on Tuesday (Sept. 26), representatives from the State Board of Elections & Ethics Enforcement will be available in downtown Raleigh to help citizens register to vote, update their registrations and learn more about voting in North Carolina.

RALEIGH – To celebrate National Voter Registration Day on Tuesday (Sept. 26), representatives from the State Board of Elections & Ethics Enforcement will be available in downtown Raleigh to help citizens register to vote, update their registrations and learn more about voting in North Carolina.

First observed in 2012, National Voter Registration Day is held annually on the fourth Tuesday of September. Its goal is to ensure all eligible citizens are properly registered and have the opportunity to vote. For details, go to nationalvoterregistrationday.org.

When? 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26

Where? Bicentennial Plaza, 1 E. Edenton St., Raleigh (near the entrance to the North Carolina Museum of History)

Why? To encourage citizens to register to vote, update existing registrations and learn more about voting in North Carolina
