Special filing period for N.C. Supreme Court

The State Board of Elections today designated a special filing period for qualified candidates to file for election for State Supreme Court. Qualified candidates may file from noon on Wednesday, March 16 to noon on Friday, March 25 at the State Board of Elections office at 441 North Harrington Street in Raleigh.

RALEIGH, N.C —The State Board of Elections today designated a special filing period for qualified candidates to file for election for State Supreme Court.

Qualified candidates may file from noon on Wednesday, March 16 to noon on Friday, March 25 at the State Board of Elections office at 441 North Harrington Street in Raleigh.  The filing fee for this office is 1% of the salary. If required, a primary will be held on June 7 to coincide with the primary for U.S. House of Representatives.

The filing period was established to comply with an order entered last week by a three-judge panel in Faires, et al. v. Whitney, et al. (15 CV 150903).


 

The North Carolina State Board of Elections is the state agency charged with overall responsibility for administration of the elections process and campaign finance disclosure in North Carolina. The office of the State Board of Elections works in conjunction with County Board of Elections offices to ensure that elections are conducted lawfully and fairly.
