With early voting beginning Wednesday, the State Board of Elections & Ethics Enforcement is reminding members of the media about laws regarding media coverage at polling locations. Early voting begins Wednesday (October 17) and runs through November 3. Election Day is November 6.

The State Board of Elections will hold a public meeting by teleconference on Tuesday, November 8, 2016, at 6:00 p.m.

The State Board of Elections is committed to ensuring the safety and security of all voters. Security at polling places is primarily the responsibility of county elections officials in coordination with local law enforcement. Aware of heightened security concerns this election season, the State Board of Elections office has taken steps to ensure the safety of voters, observers and poll workers during the voting process.

The State Board of Elections will hold an emergency public meeting by teleconference on Tuesday, March 15, 2016, at 6:30 p.m. to consider extending closing times at precincts affected by delays in excess of 15 minutes.

With election day less than a week away, the State Board of Elections is reminding journalists and the public of guidelines for filming at polling locations.

The State Board of Elections is encouraging voters to check their proper polling location ahead of Tuesday’s Primary.  Changes to election law effective this year require voters to appear at their proper polling location or risk disqualification of their entire ballot. One-stop early voting concluded Saturday with 259,590 votes cast over the 10-day period.
