Under state law, election officials must release the number of provisional ballots cast by voting method in each coun
On Oct. 8, the State Board of Elections staff will randomly select precincts, early voting sites, and absentee-by-mail ballots to be counted by hand in the counties with October municipal elections.
The number of provisional ballots cast in each county by voting method during the Sept. 9, 2025, primary elections in Forsyth, Lee, and Mecklenburg counties.
On Sept. 10, the State Board of Elections staff will randomly select precincts, early voting sites, and absentee-by-mail ballots to be counted by hand in three counties with September municipal elections.
The State Board will meet remotely on Friday, Dec. 20.
A partial hand recount resulted in additional votes for candidate Allison Riggs.
By late Friday afternoon, 98 of the 100 county boards of elections had completed their hand-to-eye recounts in the NC Supreme Court Associate Justice Seat 6 contest.
