RALEIGH, N.C. — The House today approved its version of Senate Bill 744, allocating funds for additional investigators at the State Board of Elections. The measure now moves to the Senate for reconciliation.
“This is welcome support in a critical area,” said Executive Director Kim Westbrook Strach. “Additional investigators will allow our Agency to more quickly resolve alleged violations and review evidence of voting irregularities.”
The State Board of Elections is the independent Agency empowered to investigate violations of election law in North Carolina.
If approved, the allocation will permit the State Board to hire three additional investigators.
