Search Campaign Funding and Spending Reports and Penalties

Campaign Finance Report Search Tools

Want to know how a candidate for office or a political committee in North Carolina is spending campaign contributions? Or would you like to see who’s contributing to that candidate’s campaign and how much?

There are four ways to search campaign finance reports:

  1. Search by committee/entity. View campaign finance documents for any committee registered with the State Board by searching key words for the title of the committee or the name of the candidate, or find penalties assessed to state committees at the Campaign Document Search by Entity.

  2. Search by document type. View campaign finance documents for any committee registered with our office by type of document (examples include the Statement of Organization, Report-First Quarter, Non-Compliance Letter, Penalty Assessment Letter, etc.), or find penalties assessed to state committees at the Campaign Document Search by Type.

  3. Search reported transactions. Search the North Carolina campaign finance database for contributions that committees have received (receipts) or spent (expenditures), or use the advanced search to filter for various types of transactions by receipt, expenditure, committee, party, or office, as well as date ranges, job titles of contributors, etc. at the Transaction Search by Entity. The campaign report search database updates overnight. Reports added to the database may not show up until the next day.

  4. Search penalties to county and municipal committees. New in 2021: View our data table of penalties issued to committees that file reports with the county boards of elections at Penalties to County and Municipal Committees.
